Members are informed that it is proposed that arrangements for representation of Political Groups on the Panels listed below should NOT be in accordance with the requirements of Section 15 and 16 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 but should be as set out in the Agenda of the Meeting of Annual Council held on 19 May 2021.

This Notice is given in accordance with Section 17 of the 1989 Act and Regulation 20 of the Local Government (Committee and Political Groups) Regulations 1990. The proposal will require approval with no Member of the Council voting against.

(a)  Calderdale and Kirklees Joint Health Scrutiny Committee

(b)  Wakefield and Kirklees Joint Health Scrutiny Committee

(c)  West Yorkshire Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee

(d)  Scrutiny Panel – Health and Adult Social Care

(e)  Scrutiny Panel – Childrens

(f)   Scrutiny Panel – Economy and Neighbourhood

(g)  Scrutiny Panel – Corporate

It was moved by Councillor Smaje, seconded by Councillor Cooper and;

RESOLVED -

(1) That the appointment of the following Panels/Sub Committees be approved; (i) Calderdale and Kirklees Joint Health Scrutiny Committee (ii) Health Scrutiny Panel (iii) Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee (Yorkshire and Humber) (iv) Wakefield and Kirklees Joint Health Scrutiny Committee (v) West Yorkshire Joint Health Scrutiny Committee (vi) Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Panel (vii) Children’s Scrutiny Panel (viii) Economy and Neighbourhood Scrutiny Panel and (ix) Corporate Scrutiny Panel.

(2)  That the Panels and Sub Committees as set out at (1) above shall not be in accordance with the requirements of Section 15 and 16 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989, and that the Membership shall be set out at Agenda Item 15 of the Annual Council meeting.
