The closures would be disastrous as they would hit vulnerable and elderly residents the hardest. The centres are the last 2 access points for residents of Kirklees to have face to face contact to get assistance from the council. There are hundreds of vulnerable people each month who rely on face to face services. Library staff who would take on extra work are unlikely to provide the same level of personalised assistance.
