Purpose:

The Holmfirth Town Centre Access Plan is a scheme funded by the West Yorkshire plus Transport Fund (WY+TF) and is included in Phase 1 of the Corridor Improvement Programme (CIP).

 

The scheme aims to reduce congestion in Holmfirth Town Centre to improve journey times and accessibility into the town centre.  The scheme comprises of several measures to address conflicting highway uses within the town centre, these include upgrading existing traffic signals, improvements to pedestrian crossings, widening footways and enhancing the public realm.   

 

The Outline Business Case for the project was submitted to the Combined Authority in March. Subsequently, additional project development funding of £640,000 has been approved, which takes the overall Funding Agreement to £890,000.  Authorisation is sought to proceed with developing the design and full business case for the scheme.

Authorisation is given to spend funding from the Combined Authority to proceed with developing the design and Full Business Case for the scheme.
