Decision:
RESOLVED –
That the application for the full variation of a premises licence in respect of premises known as, The Office, Fold Head Mills, Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, WF14 8BE, be approved as requested.

The Panel considered a report which outlined an application for the Full Variation of a Premises Licence, The Office, Fold Head Mills, Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, WF14 8BE.
The Licensing Officer outlined the application, advising the Panel that on the 6th August 2025, the Licensing Department received an application for the Full Variation of a Premises Licence, The Office, Fold Head Mills, Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, WF14 8BE. The venue had benefitted from a premises licence since the 16th November 2016, which included the following licensable activities:
Sale of Alcohol (on and off the premises)
Monday – Wednesday 8am -11pm
Thursday 8am – midnight
Friday and Saturday 8am – 1am
Sunday 11am – 11pm
Live and Recorded Music (indoors)
Monday – Wednesday 8am -11pm
Thursday 8am – midnight
Friday and Saturday 8am – 1am
Sunday 11am – 11pm
Late Night Refreshments (both indoors and outdoors)
Thursday 11pm – midnight
Friday and Saturday 11pm – 1am
The application for a full variation was to increase the sale of alcohol, live and recorded music and late-night refreshments on a Friday and Saturday to 2am.
During the consultation period, representations were received from three Ward Councillors in relation to the following licensing objectives not been met if the variation was granted:
No representations had been received from Responsible Authorities. The Licensing Department had received one complaint regarding the premises in November 2021 but there had been no further reported or recorded complaints.
The applicant’s representative advised the Panel that the premises had been fully operational from 2020 following the pandemic. The applicant operated a tight establishment and always adhered to the licensing objectives. There had been no Police activity or involvement from the Licensing Department to indicate crime and disorder. The premises had operated under 60 Temporary Event Notices (TEN’s) until 2am, equating to approximately 100 days, and there had been no issues or complaints raised. Security Industry Authority (SIA) doormen would be in operation on Fridays and Saturdays when the premises were open until 2am.
Having considered all the information presented both verbally and in writing, the Panel, in reaching its decision, had due regard to the provisions of the Licensing Act 2003, the statutory guidance issued under section 182 of the Act, the Councils Statement of Licensing Policy and the relevant provisions of the Human Rights Act.
RESOLVED –
That the application for the full variation of a premises licence in respect of premises known as, The Office, Fold Head Mills, Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, WF14 8BE, be approved as requested.
The reasons for the decision were:
· That granting the variation to the premises licence, would not be inconsistent with the four licensing objectives.
· The premises has operated under 60 Temporary Event Notices until 2am, equating to approximately 100 days, without any issues or complaints being raised during that time.
