Minutes of Previous Meeting

To approve the Minutes of the meeting of the Panel held on 15 September 2015.

Decision:

That the Minutes of the Panel held on 15 September 2015 be approved as a correct record.

Decision:

No interests were declared.

Exclusion of the Public

To resolve that under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

Decision:

That acting under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act, as specifically stated in the undermentioned Minute.

Recommendation

That Cabinet be recommended to incorporate within the current policy for Home to School Transport that

 

(a) All routes should be walked and measured using a trundle wheel before the appeal is brought to Panel

 

(b) The Panel questioned the suitability of public rights of ways as routes to school due to the common surface conditions and the potential for pupils arriving at school in an unsuitable (muddy) condition.  In view of this the Panel suggested that the policy be revisited.
