The Panel will receive any petitions and/or deputations from members of the public. A deputation is where up to five people can attend the meeting and make a presentation on some particular issue of concern. A member of the public can also submit a petition at the meeting relating to a matter on which the body has powers and responsibilities.

In accordance with Council Procedure Rule 10, Members of the Public must submit a deputation in writing, at least three clear working days in advance of the meeting and shall subsequently be notified if the deputation shall be heard. A maximum of four deputations shall be heard at any one meeting.

Exclusion of the Public

To resolve that under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

Licensing Act 2003 – Application for the Grant of a Personal Licence

This report is recommended for consideration in private because the

information contained in it is exempt information within Paragraph 1

of part 1 to schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 as

amended by the Local Government (access to Information) variation

order 2006. It is considered the report contains information relating

to any individual. The public interest in maintaining the exemption

outweighs the public interest in disclosure of the information in terms

of accountability, transparency and openness in council decision

making.
