Membership of the Committee

This is where Councillors who are attending as substitutes will say for whom they are attending.

Decision:

Apologies for absence were noted on behalf of Councillors David Hall, Marielle O’Neill, Shabir Pandor and David Sheard.

 

Councillors Nigel Patrick and Graham Turner substituted for Councillors David Hall and Shabir Pandor.

 

Members of the Sub Committee also agreed that, in the absence of Councillor David Sheard, Councillor Graham Turner should chair today’s meeting.

Decision:

The minutes of the Employee Relations Sub Committee on Monday 28 April 2014 were received and approved as a correct record.

 

3.

Decision:

No formal declarations of interest were submitted.

 

However, Councillor Nicola Turner did indicate that she knew one of the trade union representatives at today’s meeting.

 

4.

Admission of the Public

Most debates take place in public. This only changes when there is a need to consider certain issues, for instance, commercially sensitive information or details concerning an individual. You will be told at this point whether there are any items on the Agenda which are to be discussed in private.

Decision:

Members resolved to consider item 7 in private session, as it contains exempt information. The details and reasons are set out at the start of that item.

 

5.

Deputations/Petitions

The Committee will receive any petitions andhear any deputations from members ofthe public.A deputationis whereup to fivepeople canattend the meeting andmake apresentation onsome particularissue ofconcern. A memberofthe publiccan alsohand ina petitionat the meeting but that petition should relate to something on which the body has powers and responsibilities.

 

In accordance with Council Procedure Rule 10 (2), Members of the Public should provide at least 24 hours’ notice of presenting a deputation.  

 

 

Decision:

No deputations or petitions were received.

 

6.

Exclusion of the Public

To resolve that under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting during consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act.

Decision:

The Sub Committee agreed to consider item 7 in private session.

 

7.

Refuse Collection Services

To ask members of the Sub Committee to consider the outcome of a Central Negotiating Team meeting on 7 December 2017.  

 

The issue has been referred to the Sub Committee at the request of the trade unions.
