Membership of the Committee

This is where Councillors who are attending as substitutes will say for whom they are attending.

 

Decision:

Apologies for absence were received from Councillor Robert Light and Fatima Khan-Shah (Co-optee).

The Councillors will be asked to say if there are any items on the Agenda in which they have disclosable pecuniary interests, which would prevent them from participating in any discussion of the items or participating in any vote upon the items, or any other interests.

No interests were declared.

Admission of the Public

Most debates take place in public. This only changes when there is a need to consider certain issues, for instance, commercially sensitive information or details concerning an individual. You will be told at this point whether there are any items on the Agenda which are to be discussed in private.

 

Decision:

Agreed that all items be considered in the public session.

4.

Leadership arrangements and priorities for Children's Services in 2017/18

To consider the work which is taking place in Children’s Services in Kirklees, the new leadership and management arrangements and the issues and priorities for attention in 2017/18.

Decision:

1)    That the current leadership arrangements in Children’s Services be noted.

 

2)    That the priority areas of focus for the Leadership Team and Management Team be noted and considered as part of planning the work programme.

Ofsted - Update on monitoring visit pdf icon PDF 290 KB

To consider the outcome of the recent Ofsted monitoring visit (June 2017) and the issues to be addressed in our improvement plan and performance in 2017/18.

Decision:

1)    That the OFSTED monitoring visit outcomes be noted, including the limited progress made.

 

2)    That the issues raised by the report, including recruitment and retention be picked up as part of work programming.

1)    That the work programme be drafted as agreed at the meeting, with particular focus on;

Schedule of Meetings 2017/18

To consider arrangements for meetings of the Children’s Scrutiny Panel for 2017/18.
