To approve the Minutes of the meeting of the Meeting held on 6 November 2017.

That the minutes of the meeting on Monday 6 November 2017 be approved as a correct record..

The Councillors will be asked to say if there are any items on the Agenda in which they have disclosable pecuniary interests, which would prevent them from participating in any discussion of the items or participating in any vote upon the items, or any other interests.

No interests were declared.

Most debates take place in public. This only changes when there is a need to consider certain issues, for instance, commercially sensitive information or details concerning an individual. You will be told at this point whether there are any items on the Agenda which are to be discussed in private.

It was agreed that all items would be considered in public.

The members of the committee will visit the drop in centre at The Old Registrars Building, High Street, Huddersfield.  The meeting will continue in the Council Chamber, Huddersfield Town Hall following the completion of the drop in centre visit.

The visit was undertaken.

The members of the committee will consider the annual report 2016-2017 and receive a presentation outlining the main highlights and future areas of development.

1)         That Sheila Lock, Chair of the Kirklees Safeguarding Children’s Board, be thanked for attending.

2)         That the information relating to the KSCB be noted.

3)         That members of the Panel visit a KSCB board meeting.

4)         That Sheila Lock be invited to return, so the scrutiny panel can be assured that the Board continues to be effective and accountable.

The members of the committee will consider an updated work programme.
