The Councillors will be asked to say if there are any items on the Agenda in which they have disclosable pecuniary interests, which would prevent them from participating in any discussion of the items or participating in any vote upon the items, or any other interests.

4.

Admission of the Public

Most debates take place in public. This only changes when there is a need to consider certain issues, for instance, commercially sensitive information or details concerning an individual. You will be told at this point whether there are any items on the Agenda which are to be discussed in private.

5.

Deputations/Petitions

The Committee will receive any petitions and hear any deputations from members of the public. A deputation is where up to five people can attend the meeting and make a presentation on some particular issue of concern. A member of the public can also hand in a petition at the meeting but that petition should relate to something on which the body has powers and responsibilities.

 

In accordance with Council Procedure Rule 10 (2), Members of the Public should provide at least 24 hours’ notice of presenting a deputation.

Public Question Time

The meeting will hear any questions from the general public.

7.

The Panel will consider a report giving an update on Almondbury Community School following the Council’s decision to change the age range of the school from 1st September 2020.

RESOLVED –

1.    The Panel noted the progress report on Almondbury Community School and thanked Jo-Anne Sanders and Martin Wilby for their contributions.

2.    The Panel agreed to consider an update report to the November meeting outlining next steps and progress and which would include an outline of the transitional arrangements for children years 7 to 10. 

3.    That the Panel consider a future report on the success rating of the Academy Trust that was sponsoring Newsome High School and that the report should include an update on the Management arrangements for the school, following its Ofsted rating of special measures. 

4.    The Panel agreed to attend and observe meetings with parents held to discuss the transitional arrangements for children from Almondbury Community School for the school year 2020/21.

Members of the panel will consider the work programme and agenda plan for the 2019/20 and will consider issues for inclusion.
