To approve the Minutes of the meeting of the Panel held on 17 January 2019.

 

Decision:

The minutes of the meeting of the Panel held on 17 January 2019 were approved as a correct record.

The Councillors will be asked to say if there are any items on the Agenda in which they have disclosable pecuniary interests, which would prevent them from participating in any discussion of the items or participating in any vote upon the items, or any other interests.

Decision:

No interests were declared.

Admission of the Public

Most debates take place in public. This only changes when there is a need to consider certain issues, for instance, commercially sensitive information or details concerning an individual. You will be told at this point whether there are any items on the Agenda which are to be discussed in private.

Decision:

It was agreed that all agenda items would be considered in public session.

The Panel will receive a report which outlines the background and context of the digital landscape across Kirklees and provides the draft Digital Plan for consideration and input.

The Panel:-

 

1.    Thanked the Cabinet Member for Economy, Cabinet Member for Corporate, Sue Weston, Strategic Lead for Business and Skills and Jess Newbould, Economic Resilience Project Officer, Investment and Regeneration, for attending the meeting;

2.    Welcomed the work that was ongoing; and

3.    Asked that reference to developing and utilising digital capacity to build businesses, encourage entrepreneurship and retain wealth in the district be strengthened in the Digital Plan.

The Panel will review its work programme for 2018/19 and consider its forward agenda plan.
