To approve the Minutes of the meeting of the Panel held on 10 October 2018.

 

Decision:

Consideration of the minutes of the meeting of the Panel held on 10 October 2018 be deferred until the next meeting.

The Councillors will be asked to say if there are any items on the Agenda in which they have disclosable pecuniary interests, which would prevent them from participating in any discussion of the items or participating in any vote upon the items, or any other interests.

Decision:

No interests were declared.

Most debates take place in public. This only changes when there is a need to consider certain issues, for instance, commercially sensitive information or details concerning an individual. You will be told at this point whether there are any items on the Agenda which are to be discussed in private.

Decision:

It was agreed that all agenda items would be considered in public session.

To provide members of the Economy and Neighbourhoods Scrutiny Panel the opportunity to provide comments to support the drafting of the Council’s response to the Social Housing Green Paper: A new deal for social housing that relate to recommendations from the Hackitt Review.

Decision:

1)    The Panel thanked the Cabinet Member for Housing and Democracy, Service Director for Housing, Head of Housing Services and Director of Property, Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing, for attending the meeting.

 

2)    The Panel welcomed the work that had been carried out in response to the Hackitt Report and requested that an update on the progress of the Working Group, established to work through the Hackitt Report’s detailed implications, be brought to a future meeting.

To confirm the date of the next meeting as 7 November 2018.
