Luck Lane is a busy road with narrow pavements and a 30mph speed limit. Several schools are sited on or near this road, and many children walk to school along it. The road has very limited infrastructure to keep pedestrians safe (eg there are no designated crossings near the Royds Hall campus). Further, cars frequently mount and drive along the pavement at points where driving space narrows. Making the road safer for pedestrians, who are vulnerable road users, is an important part of looking after our community and encouraging sustainable transport (in this case walking).
