While many of the Kirklees town centres do already possess CCTV cameras, the secondary streets adjacent are often overlooked, despite these streets experiencing high numbers of pedestrian movement. Not only would the installation of CCTV cameras on these streets deter the anti-social behaviour that often occurs on them, but it would also crucially help in assisting West Yorkshire Police to identify perpetrators of crimes that do take place on or nearby the secondary streets.
