Transport - Major Scheme Approvals and Update

Kirklees Council has several pipeline transports related Major Scheme and Infrastructure Projects currently in development. Focus is now firmly on delivery on this wide-ranging programme. On site works are planned to commence in 2020 on some of the projects with a phased programme of works to deliver the whole package going through to at least 2025.

 

The report details the progress made to date on each scheme within the programme along with its current activity status within the West Yorkshire Combined Authorities Governance and Assurance Process.

 

The report seeks Council authority to deliver the following schemes

 

  • A62 Leeds Road Smart Corridor Huddersfield (Corridor Improvement Package) CIP Phase 1
  • Better Connected Stations (Huddersfield Bus to Rail Station)
  • City Connect 3 – Cross Church Street

 

Specifically, this means seeking permission to

 

  • Carry out the above-named schemes
  • Receive and spend Grant Funding
  • Procure and award contracts
