Dewsbury Town Deal - Next Steps

Following the decision by MHCLG to support the Dewsbury Town Deal this report sets out the steps for delivering the 9 identified projects. In particular:

 

·       To agree the details of the identified Town Investment Plan projects

·       To agree an assurance process for agreeing/authorising business cases for individual projects

·       To delegate authority to the appropriate officers/portfolio holders in order to agree individual business cases  

·       To agree to continue develop and design individual projects utilising the capital allocations and future Town Deal grant highlighted in the report

·       To agree the Governance arrangements for the development and delivery of projects

·       To agree how to spend the advance payment of 5% of the total Town Deal allocation.

Consultation process

Extensive consultation has been undertaken as part of the Blueprint and as part of the Town Invest Plan process. This was reported to Cabinet in January 2021.
