Local Supported Employment initiative

The Council has been awarded a grant of £420 000 by DWP  to deliver its Local Supported employment ( LSE ) initiative . Funding is available from August 2022 until March 2025.  The council is required to match fund to the value for £180 000 - which will be met through existing budgets.

 

The main purpose of the LSE fund is to support adults with a learning disability into sustainable employment. The funding will allow us to work with an additional 120 adults between November 2022 and March 2025 and extend our current Supported employment offer.

 

A decision is required to receive the Grant from DWP and enter into a funding agreement.

It has not been possible to give 28 clear days’ notice of the intention to make the Key Decision. The reasons why compliance is impracticable in this matter are as follows: -

Confirmation of the successful application for grant funding was received on 16th August 2022 with instructions to return the signed grant agreement by 26th August 2022 to avoid jeopardising the funding
