Digital Social Care Grant

Building on research in early 2022. Adult services has bid for and been successful in being awarded £403k in funds from NHS England for 2022/23 to provide grant funding to CQC registered providers to support the deployment of digital care record systems in providers that are still using paper based care records. As part of the same grant, we will also be grant funding the deployment of falls prevention and detection devices to CQC registered care homes locally. The bid was accepted in autumn 2022 by NHS England and the West Yorkshire ICS, and this decision notice publishes that. All grants will be paid using existing financial procedure rules which do not require any additional delegation.

Consultation process

As mentioned above this grant was a potential next step from some research undertaken with the care sector locally at the start of 2022. There was work with West Yorkshire ICS to shape up the potential bid which was regularly shared with senior leaders in adults and health.
