Kirklees Council Tax Reduction Scheme Review 24/25

A report that seeks to consider revision of the Kirklees Council Tax Reduction Scheme.

 

Notwithstanding this Key Decision Notice the Cabinet took a decision to consult upon proposals on 15th august 2023. This Key Decision Notice refers to a decision that may  be made on 12th December 2023 to refer the recommendation as set out in the report to the Council on 13th December 2023 for decision as a decision to make or revise a scheme has to be made by Council as set out in the Local Government Finance Act 1992.

Consultation process

Following a Decision by the Cabinet to consult taken on 15th August 2023 – that consultation is now complete, the findings of which will be made available as part of the report.

 

It is a statutory requirement under the Local Government Finance Act 1992 that the authority consult on it’s proposals before making or revising it’s scheme.
