The Council has been awarded a grant of £593,117 by West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) to deliver Adult Skills Fund for 1 year 01 August 2024 to 31 July 2025.
Adult Skills Fund (ASF) incorporates tailored learning (previously known as community learning) and formula funded Adult Education Budget.
The funding awarded is predominantly for Tailored Learning £565,619 and £27,498 AEB.
The primary purpose of tailored learning is to reach disadvantaged communities and individuals, to enable them to develop new skills, participate in learning and to progress towards further learning and/or sustainable employment. It will, however, also support wider outcomes including using it to improve health and wellbeing, equip parents/carers to support their child’s learning and develop stronger communities.
Kirklees Council has received funding for Adult Community Learning for 12+ years.
