Closed Landfill Maintenance Contract Procurement.

Kirklees Council are required to tender a contract for the environmental management, and maintenance of six closed landfill sites. To ensure the contract award is in line with procurement regulations an open tender exercise is required .

 

Procurement to combine the existing 4 closed landfill sites with the transfer of 2 additional sites from our current Waste Disposal Contractor (Suez) back to the Council in Autumn 2025 (part of the waste disposal contract extension DoV/ Handback programme of 2023)

 

Regular and routine technical (inc. balancing of gas wells, maintenance of leachate lines, etc) works are required at these sites to ensure gas and leachate production is controlled and managed in line with the Councils statutory duties to effectively manage closed landfill sites. Three of the sites are under Environment Agency permits.
