Kirklees Council worked with Crown Commercial Services and several other public sector organisations to award a framework for high volume mail services.
The NFC185 Postal Services Aggregation has now been awarded and the council will buy from this as the current contract ends 7 February 2025.
The new contract locks in our current unit price per mail item at a time when mail prices continue to surge as the market shrinks.
The council sent over 1.4 million mail items in prepaid envelopes in 2022/23 costing over £616k. We are expecting this volume to drop in year and in subsequent years as we switch to digital fulfilment of as many letters, bills and reminders as possible.
