West Yorkshire Combined Authority has agreed to provide the Council with grant funding totalling £1,618,679 to facilitate the extension of the Employment West Yorkshire programme, previously approved by Cabinet in December 2022, to 31 March 2026.
Acceptance of the funding will enable the Council, working with community-based delivery partners, to continue to provide support for Kirklees residents, including those who are furthest from the labour market, to help them re-enter and remain in the labour market.
The decision is to
· accept external funding of £1,618,679 from West Yorkshire Combined Authority in accord with sections 22.5 and 22.6 of the Council’s Financial Procedure Rules; and
· extend the existing delivery arrangements to 31 March 2026 in accord with the officer delegations set out in the Cabinet decision dated 21 December 2022 and the Council’s Contract Procedure Rules.
