The Council has been awarded a grant of £656,553 from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to deliver the Adult Skills Fund programme in the 2025/26 academic year.
Adult Skills Fund (ASF) incorporates tailored learning (previously known as community learning) and formula funded Adult Education Budget. Funding totalling £622,181 is allocated for Tailored Learning and £34,372 from the Adult Education Budget.
The primary purpose of tailored learning is to reach disadvantaged communities and individuals, to enable them to develop new skills, participate in learning and to progress towards further learning and/or sustainable employment. It will also support wider outcomes including using it to improve health and wellbeing, equip parents/carers to support their child’s learning and develop stronger communities.
