The draft Local Plan will set out a spatial
planning strategy for Kirklees for the period 2013 – 2031. It
will set out site allocations to accommodate development required
to meet defined needs over the period and designations to protect
areas of land. It will also include development management policies
which will be used alongside the National Planning Policy Framework
and other material considerations to consider planning
applications. Once adopted, it will replace the Kirklees Unitary
Development Plan.
