The framework provides a comprehensive supply and demand overview of built leisure and sports facilities and forms an evidence base to help inform the new Local Plan and to support decision making regarding the future development of facilities which promote health and wellbeing across Kirklees. This report requests endorsement from the council for the framework and recommendations.

Consultation process

During the process to draft the framework, a number of stakeholders in have been consulted. This includes a number of representatives from National Governing Bodies for sport, various voluntary clubs, Sport England, West Yorkshire Sport, the Kirklees Physical Activity and Sports Partnership Executive Board and officers from Planning, Physical Resources and Procurement and the Sport and Physical Activity Development Team.
