Reserve Forces and Cadets Association for Yorkshire and the Humber

Description

The Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) for Yorkshire and the Humber is an independent, community-based organisation with the responsibility of advising and assisting the Defence Council on issues concerning tri-service reserves and cadets in the region.

 

The RFCA has a wide remit and day-to-day responsibilities can range from providing support to reservists’ employers, managing and maintaining our reserve and cadet sites in the region, recruiting adult cadet force volunteers and liaising with a wide range of local communities, MPs and councils.

 

Purpose

(a) Provision and maintenance of accommodation for the Reserve Forces and cadets.

 

(b) Recruiting and Publicity for TA and cadet adults plus public relations.

 

(c) Liaison with the Regular Army, employers, trade unions and local authorities.

 

(d) Certain welfare aspects of the Reserve Forces.

 

 

Role/ Expectations of Representatives

To attend the Association Meeting twice a year and report back to Council. Act as point of contact for the Association with the Council

 

 

Meetings/ Time Commitments

Two meeting per year, normally March and November. Mondays, starting at 1100 hours, followed by buffet lunch, clear 1400 hours. Not normally any Sub Group involvement for Council representatives.
