Purpose

To advance the education of people under the age of 25 who are resident, or whose parents are resident, in the former County Borough of Dewsbury.

Period/Term of Office

Three years but the Council may choose to reappoint annually

Role/ Expectations of Representatives

To have knowledge of Dewsbury and its people and have an appreciation of educational needs.

Meetings/ Time Commitments

The Charity is required to distribute annual income. This is done by way of grants agreed at a meeting held in November. A further meeting is held in February or March each year to consider and approve the annual accounts. Applications are distributed two weeks prior to the meeting to enable trustees to consider them beforehand.

The November meeting usually takes an hour whilst the meeting in either February or March should take no more than 30 minutes.  Minutes of each meeting are distributed to trustees only.
