Description

PURPOSE

 

Business, Economy and Innovation Committee is a thematic committee which:

 

Makes decisions about Non-Mayoral Functions relating to business, the economy and innovation, on behalf of the Combined Authority, and advises the Combined Authority and the Mayor.

 

It oversees:

 

Mayoral pledge to support local businesses and champion our regional economy, including overseeing work to develop the Local Growth Plan and implementation.

 

Sector and cluster development plans to strengthen activity to support high growth businesses and drive productivity improvements.

 

Celebrating successes of business activity in the region.

 

ROLE/EXPECTATIONS OF REPRESENTATIVES

 

To attend formal committee meetings to consider items relating to the work of the Committee.

 

MEETINGS/TIME COMMITMENT

 

There are usually three meetings per year.
