PURPOSE

Culture, Heritage and Sport Committee is a thematic, decision-making committee which:

Makes decisions about Non-Mayoral Functions relating to culture, the arts and creative industries, on behalf of the Combined Authority, and advises the Combined Authority and the Mayor.

It oversees:

Priority to increase access to culture and sports for all children.

Development and delivery of the Culture, Heritage and Sport Framework.

Funding opportunities to deliver against the framework and projects in delivery such as the Creative Catalyst.

ROLE/EXPECTATIONS OF REPRESENTATIVES

To attend formal committee meetings to consider items relating to the work of the Committee.

MEETINGS/TIME COMMITMENT

There are usually three meetings a year.
