Agenda and decisions

Most debates take place in public. This only changes when there is a need to consider certain issues, for instance, commercially sensitive information or details concerning an individual. You will be told at this point whether there are any items on the Agenda which are to be discussed in private.

The Committee determined that the business for the meeting be considered in public.

Members are informed that it is proposed that arrangements for representation of Political Groups on the Panels listed below should NOT be in accordance with the requirements of Section 15 and 16 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989 but should be as set out in the report of the Agenda of the Annual Council meeting on 22 May 2019.

This Notice is given in accordance with Section 17 of the 1989 Act and Regulation 20 of the Local Government (Committee and Political Groups) Regulations 1990. The proposal will require approval with no Member of the Council voting against.

(a)       Calderdale and Kirklees Joint Health Scrutiny Committee

(b)       Wakefield and Kirklees Joint Health Scrutiny Committee

(c)        West Yorkshire Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee

(d)       Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Panel

(e)       Children’s Scrutiny Panel

(f)        Economy and Neighbourhood Scrutiny Panel

(g)       Corporate Scrutiny Panel

(i) That the appointment of the following Panels/Sub Committees be approved; (i) Calderdale and Kirklees Joint Health Scrutiny Committee (ii) Health Scrutiny Panel (iii) Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee (Yorkshire and Humber) (iv) Wakefield and Kirklees Joint Health Scrutiny Committee (v) West Yorkshire Joint Health Scrutiny Committee (vi) Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Panel (vii) Children’s Scrutiny Panel (viii) Economy and Neighbourhood Scrutiny Panel and (ix) Corporate Scrutiny Panel.

(ii)  That the Panels and Sub Committees as set out at (1) above shall not be in accordance with the requirements of Section 15 and 16 of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989, and that the Membership shall be set out at Agenda Item 18 of the Annual Council meeting.
